Forwarding Email

I know a lot of you get jokes and cute things through email and want to share them with your friends.  The problem with this is that it gets caught up in a loop and ends up being forwarded several times.  You know what I'm talking about when you get an email that you have to open 10 times to get to the actual message. Plus you have to scroll through endless lines of email addresses to get to the punch line.

Here's a way to make emailing much more enjoyable.

If you get an email that you would like to send to someone else or several people, do this:

Find the part of the email that you would like to send.  Put your cursor in front of where it starts, then drag and highlight everything you want to send.  Believe it or not, you can even copy pictures that are in the existing message.  After you get everything highlighted, either go to File, then Copy or CTRL-C (Copy).  It is now copied into computer memory (clipboard).  Click on New or Create to create a new email.  Click in the body of the window (message area), click on File, then Paste or simply press CTRL-V (Paste).

Email etiquette is to always put a subject into your Subject line.

If you want to send the email to where nobody will see all the email address it was sent to, simply send the message to yourself, and BCC (blind carbon copy) the email to everyone else.  In you are in your new message and the BCC field doesn't show up, click on View, and click on View All Headers.

Other Tips

Never use the unsubscribe option on a SPAM email.  They catch a lot of people like this.  If you respond to the "unsubscribe" email, they then know that your address is a valid email address and will sell it to other SPAMMERS.  Unless you know for certain the list or site you are wanting to unsubscribe from is legit, just delete the email.

Don't type your messages in ALL CAPS!  THIS IS CONSIDERED SHOUTING OR YELLING AND NOBODY LIKES IT! :)

Thanks Ken for sending me a note to remind users on how to do a clean forward of emails.

If anyone has any tips or tricks that you find useful, please drop me a line and I'll be glad to FORWARD it on. :)

Thanks and Happy Computing!
